The CTP Insurer may arrange one or more Independent Medical Examinations (IMEs) and reports. IMEs can also be arranged by you or your legal representative.
Why you might need an IME
An IME is an assessment (by a health professional or IME Examiner) which provides an independent opinion about your injury and treatment. An IME report confirms whether your injury resulted from the motor vehicle accident and helps the CTP Insurer to:
- determine your eligibility for compensation
- review your medical and health services and
- manage your rehabilitation.
